“Carte Particuliere” 1723, anonymous; ten leagues above and below New Orleans

We offer two different walking tours for kids and their families.

“The Port, the Pirates & All the Rest!” gives an overview of New Orleans’ history and geography, chronologically retracing Louisiana’s history- through its highs and super, super lows (below sea level lows!).

“Creole Kids Tour” takes kids (and their chaperones) to the Golden Era of New Orleans: the 1830s. We’ll explore that time period for the children of the city: the Creole kids, the newly arrived American kids, free kids and enslaved kids. This tour also includes a walk through an historic courtyard at the Hermann-Grima House. Bonus: all participants will receive a reduced rate ticket to tour the inside of the museum as well!
