French Quartour Kids is part of the Confederacy of Cruisers family. Because their bicycle tours were unable to accommodate children, the idea for a tour company just for kids was born!

The tours are written and led by me, Jill Dresser. I am a former elementary school teacher, having taught in the Bronx, Denver and New Orleans for the past 10 years. I received my undergraduate degree in history from Tulane University in ’98. This is when my love for New Orleans’ history began. The New York City Teaching Fellows offered me the opportunity to earn a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Mercy College, while teaching full time in the Bronx and acquiring my teaching credential.

I finally returned to the city I love in 2007.  I decided to leave teaching in 2010. I currently work as the Education Coordinator at the Hermann-Grima + Gallier Historic Houses. (This is, ironically, where I interned in 1998 as part of my history degree!) My work here allows me to reach out to schools and teachers, surround myself in history, and enjoy part time teaching moments on field trips and classroom visits. I’m a licensed tour guide with the New Orleans Taxicab Bureau. I still tutor kids at my old school, Langston Hughes Academy with my mentor into teaching, Melvin Howard of Victories in Service.

French Quartour Kids allows me to combine all of my passions and share them with the next generation!
